Tehran, May 22, IRNA- Sari is one of the most important historical and cultural cities of northern Iran.

According to Tehran-based English newspaper Iran Daily, Managing Director of Urban Development and Renovation Company Parviz Hanachi said this ancient city has 21,000 hectares of historical textures.

“The historical texture of Ab Anbar No District in Sari is home to 19 historical monuments,” he added.

Hanachi, who is also a deputy roads and urban construction minister, said the government supports the renovation of dilapidated textures by granting loans worth 300 million to 500 million rials.

He put the loan's profit rate at 22 percent, of which 9 percent are paid by the government.

Hanachi said Sari has 641 hectares of old textures.

Managing Director of Mazandaran Development and Housing Construction Company Mehdi Haddadian said the company has renovated historical houses with unique architecture since 2009.

Haddadian added that Fazeliha House has been considered as a gathering place of artists and pundits.

He said Sari Sara is a venue for teaching Qur'an and religious issues.

Haddadian stressed that people should frequent ancient monuments.

“If the district is renovated, it will turn into a cultural and tourism hub of Sari,” he said.

'We have held negotiations with Sari Education Department to introduce these monuments to school students.'

The most important pillar of preserving the identity of a city is revival of its traditional texture and history.
