Hamid Kahram said that the institute has been producing the strategic vaccine for 40 years, so the country does not import the vaccine.
He added that this kind of vaccine is produced in a few countries in the world and Iran is among 10 countries possessing the technology and know –how for production of the poliomyelitis vaccine.
Kahram continued that although Iran is located in a volatile region in the neghborhood of Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, no cas eof th edesease has been reported in the country over the past 16 years.

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Head of Razi Vaccine Research and Serum Institute said that the institute's annual production of poliomyelitis vaccine ( Polio) would rise to 20 million doses and in case it receives necessary support, it would be able to produce more than 40 million doses annually.
