Bahmani said 16,676 meter drilling was part of key projects commissioned by the NIDC.
The NIDC is busy drilling wells for phases 17, 18 and 14 of South Pars gas field, and 13 wells in the onshore part of Kish gas field and operations, being active in drilling projects in Azadegan, Yadavaran and Yaran fields.
The NIDC has managed to drill 50 oil and gas wells since the beginning of current Iranian calendar year on 20 March 2012.
"Out of the total figure, 27 wells were for development while the remainders were work over wells."
He said that drilling operations were carried out in the areas covered by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Central Iranian Oil Fields Company (CIOFC) and other onshore and offshore projects.
Referring to naming current year as the Year of Supporting National Production, Supporting Iranian Labor and Capital, Bahmani said: NIDC’s workforce trying to speed up implementation of projects by doubling efforts.
According to Bahmani during the 110 days passing the beginning of the year, the number of drilled wells has raised by 10 in comparison to similar period last year.
‘We are ahead of schedule in implementation of drilling projects and will try to keep the pace during the coming months of the year’, Bahmani said.
Referring to possessing of 72 light, heavy and ultra heavy drilling rigs, NIDC’ managing director noted that the drilling fleet of the company was involved in drilling operations in seven provinces of the country along with offering technical and expertise services.
“38 Fath Drilling Rig joined NIDC’s fleet a few days ago and has started operations in area covered by National Iranian South Oil Company’, the official said.
Referring to fifth five year development plan and 20 Years Horizon targets, Bahmani said the role of drilling in oil industry was very important therefore providing and manufacturing of drilling rigs is one of the company’s priorities.
Bahmani noted that domestic research, academic and scientific centers in cooperation with Iranian manufacturers can play an important role in localization of the industry.
NIDC is a NIOC’s subsidiary in upstream sector, being responsible for 90 percent of drilling operations plus providing technical and engineering services across the country.
The company managed to drill or complete 191 developmental, appraisal, and exploratory wells by drilling 454 thousand meter of oil and gas wells last year.

Tehran, July 23, IRNA – Managing Director of National Iranian Drilling Company Heidar Bahmani said on Monday that NIDC in the first four months of the year carried out 146,745 meter drilling operations at oil and gas fields.
