Tehran, June 9, IRNA - Iran’s Foreign Ministry has appointed Hassan Taherian as the Islamic Republic’s new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Seoul.

The new envoy was proposed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and endorsed by President Hassan Rouhani.



Taherian has already served as deputy foreign minister for international affairs, temporary charge d'affair to Seoul, ambassador to Pyongyang, ambassador to Ireland and Deputy Secretary General of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
