Shahid Firouzi: Tehran’s 60-year-old power plant
In the late 1954, the Tehran Power Plant in Tarasht signed a contract with France’s Alstom to purchase a 50-megabyte factory consisting of four steam units to address the city's electricity shortage. In 1959, Units Three and Four were put into operation, followed by Units One and Two in the same year. The Alstom power plant, now known as "Shahid Firouzi," stands as one of the oldest power plants in Iran and the only electricity production facility located in an urban setting.
