Iran’s six-month shrimp exports up 22% YOY
Tehran, IRNA – Iran has exported some 13,500 tons worth $60 million of shrimp in the first six months of the Iranian calendar year (March 21 – September 22), according to a person with the knowledge of the matter.

Shrimp fishing in Iran's Hormozgan province up by 50%
Bandar Abbas, IRNA – As announced by a provincial official in Hormozgan, southern Iran, a total of 600 tons of shrimps were harvested from the province's shrimp farms during the current harvest season, which shows a 50% increase compared to the same period last year.

Shrimp farming in Iran's Golestan province
The only Caspian Sea shrimp farm with an area of 4,000 hectares is located 10 kilometers from the Gomishan coast of Golestan province, located in northern Iran. The shrimp bred in the Gomishan farm is of the vannamei type, which fully grows and reaches a weight of 15 grams in 120 days due to the low salinity of the water and suitable climate and soil. Iran sets target to produce 160k tons of shrimp per year
Tehran, IRNA – Head of Iran Fisheries Organization (IFSRI) says that the country has set a target to produce some 160,000 metric tons (mt) of shrimp per year.
