The Mandawi bazar, once called the interim dorm, is one of the famous marketplaces in the Afghan capital Kabul. One of the key parts of the crowded market is the Straw Sellers’ Alley which is currently dedicated to selling birds. The passage is one of the few places in Kabul which has been saved from years of war and destruction in Afghanistan. Singing birds, pigeons and other beautiful creatures as well as various traditional Afghan dishes and snacks are sold to customers in the market.
