Terraced cultivation of rice in northern Iran
Terraced cultivation of rice covers more than 65,000 hectares of Golestan province’s agricultural lands, northern Iran. About 2% of these rice fields are located along the Khormarud River. Due to the use of river water, springs, and the warmth during the day and the cool at nights, the rice produced in this village is one a kind in Golestan province. It is very fragrant and of high quality.
