Efforts underway to register Kashan as World City of Traditional Textile
Tehran, IRNA - The city of Kashan in the central province of Isfahan was introduced to World Crafts Council as a candidate for recognition as the World City of Traditional Textile, said the head of the city’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department.

Ameris' House; traditional & historical monument in Iran's Kashan
The Ameris' House (House of the Ameri family) is a traditional house in Kashan that was built during Zand Dynasty. It was later renovated in the mid 19th century during the Qajar era (1787-1921). The house is one of several large spectacular old houses in the central Kashan. Like the other historic houses around it, it was rebuilt after Kashan was ravaged by massive earthquakes in the 18th century. This historical house has become a public museum in recent years. Rosewater is created by distilling rose petals with steam. Rosewater is fragrant, and it is sometimes used as a mild natural fragrance as an alternative to chemical-filled perfumes. Rosewater has been used for thousands of years, including in the Middle Ages. It is thought to have originated in what is now Iran.
