Symbolic caravan of Imam Hossein
A caravan symbolizing that of Imam Hossein has moved through the streets of Noushabad, a town 7km away from the city of Kashan, central Iran. The symbolic move was part of mourning ceremonies marking Tasu’a, the ninth day on Muharram lunar calendar month and a day before Ashura when Imam Hossein and 72 companions were martyred during the battle of Karbala 14 centuries ago. Ameris' House; traditional & historical monument in Iran's Kashan
The Ameris' House (House of the Ameri family) is a traditional house in Kashan that was built during Zand Dynasty. It was later renovated in the mid 19th century during the Qajar era (1787-1921). The house is one of several large spectacular old houses in the central Kashan. Like the other historic houses around it, it was rebuilt after Kashan was ravaged by massive earthquakes in the 18th century. This historical house has become a public museum in recent years.
