Iran unveils home-made plasma therapy machine
In a trip to the northern Iranian province of Alborz, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami opened the first diabetes care and plasma therapy center in the province on January 1, 2024. Eslami also delivered a speech at a conference on plasma therapy which was organized by Alborz University of Medical Sciences and unveiled Iran’s first home-made plasma therapy machine which is used to treat chronic cancer patients. Plasma therapy is a successful method for treating chronic wounds and cancer that has significantly lower side effects compared to conventional treatments. The method has an anti-microbial effect which enables the wounds to heal faster. That reduces patient referrals to treatment centers and helps reduce the costs.
