Mahabad, located in West Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran, is recognized as a significant hub for apple production in the country. With an impressive capacity to harvest 170,000 tons of apples annually, the region plays a crucial role in the nation’s fruit industry. Each year, farmers gather between 20,000 to 30,000 tons of second-grade apples. These apples are then transported to factories where they are processed into juice and concentrate.
