Iran’s Museum of Historic Cars opened on May 19, 2003. The Museum contains some of the most unique models produced in the car industry in a bid to both preserve them as a national heritage and to provide an opportunity to study the history of cars in Iran.Some of the car models being kept in the museum are among the rarest in the industry. The gilded Pierce-Arrow, the world’s only Panther Lazer which is a joint production of Daimler, Porsche and Volks Wagen, various classic Rolls-Royce models, including a Silver Ghost owned by last king of Iran’s Qajar Dynasty Ahmad Shah, a bullet-proof Phantom IV and several limousines. Sports cars on display in the museum include Lamborghini Miura and Countach, Ferrari 500 Superfast, Bizzarrini, and several major Porsche models.
