Operation Toward Beit-ol-Moqaddas, one of key Iranian offensives during the eight-year imposed war of Iraq on the country in the 1980s, started on April 30, 1982, in Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, and Dasht-e-Azadegan regions in southwest Iran. The successful operation led to the liberation of Khorramshahr, an Iranian city occupied by Iraqi forces for 18 months.
