Chaharshanbe Soori, the last Tuesday of the Iranian calendar year, is a ritual celebrated across Iran annually. On the day, the Iranian people burn fires to celebrate the dominance of light over darkness. Then, individuals jump over small fires as a symbol of burning the dull dark winter nights to welcome bright spring days.
Despite the great happiness people feel by holding the festival, some use explosives to celebrate Chaharshanbe Soori. Although Chaharshanbeh Soori is the fire festival, it does not mean that the event should be accompanied by explosions to scare others. Tehran, Iran, March 14, 2023.
