As we approach the Persian New Year (Nowruz), a small group of rural people goes from one doorstep to the other one singing songs about the arrival of Nowruz and the approach of spring in the northern Iranian province of Gilan, March 11, 2023. They are welcomed mostly by tea and sweets at every doorstep they go. The ceremony is a traditional ritual which is observed on the eve of Nowruz each year.
