A 6-magnitude earthquake has rocked Turkey, news sources reported on Wednesday.
The Turkish Interior Minister announced that the earthquake, measuring 6.2, occurred in the Silivri district of Istanbul.
He added that teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Headquarters have begun field investigation operations.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also announced that he is closely monitoring developments related to the earthquake in Istanbul and hopes that Turkish citizens are safe and in good health.
There are no immediate reports of possible casualties.
