Ministry of Science issues solidarity statement with Palestine ahead of Quds Day

The ministry condemns the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime as one of the great tragedies of the 21st century.

The Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology has issued a statement expressing solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine ahead of International Quds Day.

The ministry condemned the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime as one of the great tragedies of the 21st century, calling on the international community to break its silence in the face of these ongoing crimes.

The statement highlighted systematic violations by the occupying regime, including the targeting of civilians—especially women and children—the destruction of vital infrastructure such as universities, schools, and hospitals, and the denial of basic necessities like water, food, and humanitarian aid.

The following is the full text of the statement:

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

On the eve of International Quds Day, the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology issues this statement in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.

Crime cannot be normalized. The ongoing atrocities committed by the occupying regime in Palestine remain a profound tragedy of the 21st century, witnessed by a stunned global community.

The occupying regime’s continued targeting of civilians-especially women and children-alongside the destruction of civilian infrastructure (universities, schools, hospitals), obstruction of humanitarian aid, and denial of basic necessities like water and food, flagrantly violate the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and Articles 35, 48, and 51 of the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions.

The Ministry urges the international community, particularly human rights advocates, to take immediate steps to halt these crimes and pursue the following:

1. Ensure the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

2. Guarantee the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

3. End the blockade of Gaza immediately.

4. Uphold humanitarian law by distinguishing between military personnel and civilians.

5. Respect the dignity and sanctity of women and children.

6. Cease attacks on residential areas, hospitals, schools, and universities.

7. Restore electricity, water, and humanitarian aid without delay.

8. Protect the human rights of prisoners and the war-wounded.

9. Grant the Red Cross access to conflict zones.

10. Refer the Gaza case to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute perpetrators of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, disregarding political or diplomatic immunity per the ICC Statute.

The Ministry calls on the justice-seeking people of Iran to join rallies on the last Friday of Ramadan in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
