Exclusive | U.S. threats won't deter Yemen from supporting Palestine, says senior Yemeni official
Secretary of Yemen's Supreme Political Council Yasser al-Houri

A senior Yemeni official says Yemen’s military capabilities keep growing despite U.S.-led attacks on critical facilities.

Tehran, IRNA – Secretary of Yemen's Supreme Political Council Yasser al-Houri has renewed his country’s position on supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause until they reclaim all their legitimate rights.

“The Yemeni nation, leaders and armed forces are steadfast in the commitment they made to the Palestinian nation and resistance,” al-Houri told IRNA in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.

Referring to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, he said that Yemen will not stand idly by, like other Arab countries with worthless statements, as the oppressed Palestinian people are being massacred.

“The Yemeni nation and armed forces consider defending Palestine as defending themselves and the Islamic Ummah,” he said.

The official underlined that the Yemeni people and army have been fighting Israel in support of Palestine despite constant attacks by U.S. forces stationed in the region.

“On one hand, the Yemeni armed forces are targeting the depth of the Zionist enemy, and on the other, they are confronting American aggression using their field experiences,” he said, adding that “the U.S. attacks have had no effect on Yemen's military capabilities.”

Al-Houri hailed the Yemeni nation’s steadfastness, saying that the anti-Israel operations and the clashes with U.S. forces in the Red Sea show their high readiness and capability.

Elsewhere in the interview, he warned the regional countries about the Israeli and U.S. plots.

In the Middle East under U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, all countries should either have friendly ties with the Israeli regime or they should act in accordance with policies and will of Washington and Tel Aviv, he said. “This is a danger that threatens all countries in the Middle East.”

Al-Houri also drew attention to the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and said that the country will not be left alone in the face of the attacks of the Zionist regime.

“Leader of Ansarullah movement Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced that Yemen is ready to come to the aid of Lebanon with all its might and resources,” he said.

The Secretary of Yemen's Supreme Political Council also said that armed forces are waiting signals from their leaders and commanders to launch their operations in support of Lebanon.

He once again reaffirmed stance on Palestine, saying the Yemeni people have always supported their leaders on the issue and do not pay attention to the threats of the United States. “The Yemeni people have entered the battle in support the Palestinians with reliance on God.”
