People in Morocco have taken to the streets in two major cities in a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza where the Israeli regime has resumed air and ground attacks in violation of a ceasefire.
The protests were held in the capital, Rabat, and the city of Marrakesh on Saturday night, where protesters condemned the resumption of Israeli attacks on Gaza.
According to the Voice of Morocco media outlet, the demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and banners with slogans in support of the resistance of the people of Gaza.
The protesters called on Arab states to support the Palestinian people and stop the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in the strip.
Meanwhile, Hespress, an online news website, reported that a group of protesters gathered in front of the Moroccan parliament on Saturday night for the third time in less than a week.
They expressed outrage at the atrocities in Gaza and called on the Moroccan government to sever ties with Israel, which were established five years ago.
The demonstrators criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s support for the renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza, accusing him of making false promises to bring peace to the world.
The protesters also set fire to Israel’s flag to show their anger at the regime that resumed its attacks on Gaza on March 18 in violation of a ceasefire deal with Hamas, which had begun earlier this year.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 49,747 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 113,213 others wounded since Israel began its genocidal war on October 7, 2023.
