Iran summons German and British envoys over draft resolution at U.N. rights body
 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Forouzandeh Vadiati, director-general of Women and Human Rights Affairs at the ministry, expressed Iran’s strong objections to the “irresponsible and provocative” actions of Germany and Britain in drafting a resolution against Iran at the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Tehran, IRNA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the German ambassador and the British chargé d’affaires in Tehran in response to recent anti-Iran measures taken by London and Berlin.

Forouzandeh Vadiati, director-general of Women and Human Rights Affairs at the ministry, expressed Iran’s strong objections to the “irresponsible and provocative” actions of Germany and Britain in drafting a resolution against the Islamic Republic at the United Nations Human Rights Council.

In her meeting with the German ambassador, Vadiati condemned Germany’s historical supply of chemical weapons to former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war and criticized the exploitation of human rights as a tool to apply pressure on Iran.

In a separate meeting with the British chargé d’affaires, Vadiati denounced Britain’s long-standing interference in Iran’s internal affairs and its anti-Iran stance at the U.N. Human Rights Council. She described such actions as counterproductive, warning that they could undermine the credibility of U.N.-affiliated human rights bodies and erode international trust in them.

Vadiati also highlighted Germany and Britain’s support for Israeli war crimes and genocide against Palestinians, as well as their alignment with U.S. unilateral sanctions against Iran.
