Oman’s grand mufti warns about Gaza's dire humanitarian situation amid Israeli siege

Grand Mufti of Oman Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili warns about the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, urging people around the world to provide their utmost support for the oppressed residents of the besieged territory.

Grand Mufti of Oman Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili has warned about the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip where the Palestinian people are deprived of basic supplies due to restrictions imposed by Israel.

In a message on his X account on Saturday, al-Khalili highlighted the imposition of a cruel siege and the catastrophic humanitarian situation across Gaza, calling on all Muslims and freedom-loving individuals to assist the oppressed people.

He said that all people are obliged to stand with the residents of Gaza and support them in the same way "we help our families and friends during times of hardship."

Al-Khalili also advocated for standing against tyranny and oppression, expressing his appreciation for the decisive stance of Yemeni fighters who have threatened to launch attacks on Israel over its move to block the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Israel stopped the flow of aid last Sunday, a day after the first phase of its ceasefire deal with Hamas ended. The regime said the halt was aimed at pressuring Hamas to agree to the extension of the first phase and release the prisoners still held in Gaza. Israel did so without entering talks on the second phase, with its move coming despite repeated announcements by Hamas that it is ready for a prisoner exchange under the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

On Friday, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement gave Israel a four-day deadline to permit the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza or face military operations.
