Israeli police clash with protesters who call for a prisoner swap with the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, and the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire deal.

Israelis have held yet another demonstration in Tel Aviv against war policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which turned violent after clashes broke out with police trying to disperse the crowd.

The demonstration was held on Saturday night. The protesters, including family members of the prisoners still held in Gaza, demanded Netanyahu fully implement a ceasefire deal with Hamas in order for the prisoners to be released.

Police forces, who intervened to break up the rally, clashed with some of the demonstrators and made arrests, Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

The protesters expressed concerns over the lives of the prisoners amid signals by Netanyahu’s cabinet that the war could resume in Gaza after the first phase of the ceasefire expired on March 1 without the regime entering talks on a second phase.

The protesters criticized Netanyahu for refusing to proceed with the ceasefire deal, accusing him of turning the fate of the prisoners into a chess game to serve his own interests.

They also urged U.S. President Donald Trump not to allow Netanyahu to pave the way for the death of the prisoners in Gaza, emphasizing that the renewed conflict would not lead to their release.

Hamas has said it will only release the remaining prisoners if Israel ends the war.
