Several Arab governments in the West Asia region have categorically condemned the Israeli regime for blocking the entry of international humanitarian aid into the besieged territory. They say that this action is intended to pressure the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, into accepting a proposal made by the United States to extend the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which expired on Saturday.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry released a statement saying that Doha rejects “using food as a weapon of war and the deliberate starvation of civilians.”
Qatar condemned the Israeli regime’s decision to halt the entry of humanitarian aid, considering this move “a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and all religious principles.”
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry said that Israel's actions violate the ceasefire agreement, “posing a serious risk of renewed escalation” in Gaza. Jordan also labeled the halt of aid as “a blatant violation of international law, humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.”
Egypt and Saudi Arabia similarly condemned Israel for cutting off the entry of goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip following the expiration of the first phase of a ceasefire deal with Hamas.
A statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry, cited by the official Saudi Press Agency, said that the Israeli decision “to stop the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and its use as a tool of blackmail and collective punishment... is a flagrant violation of international law and a direct violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.” Saudi Arabia also urged the international community to “stop these serious Israeli violations.”
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry stressed that there is no justification for using the starvation of innocent civilians and the imposition of a siege as weapons against the Palestinian people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry also said that the Israeli regime’s decision represents a blatant violation of international law and is contrary to the principles of humanitarian law, reflecting a disregard for the consequences of the brutal war against Gaza, according to Al-Khaleej online.
The Israeli regime’s 15th war in Gaza resulted in the death of at least 48,388 Palestinians and left 111,803 others injured throughout more than 15 months of conflict.
