Police in Sistan and Baluchestan province said on Sunday that leader of a drug trafficking gang was taken into custody at a check point following round-the-clock intelligence work.
The identity of the arrested individual was not made public by authorities, but police said the suspect was responsible for the death of two security forces and three civilians.
The captured armed killer has been handed over to judicial authorities for prosecution.
