‘Zionist regime responsible for massacre, mass burial of Gazans’

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani has held the Zionist regime responsible for the massacre and mass burial of Palestinians at Nasser Hospital in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to deal with the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

The publication of the horrifying and heartbreaking news of the massacre and mass burial of hundreds of patients, wounded and medical staff in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital has caused the astonishment and sadness among people around the world, IRNA cited Kanaani as saying.

Emphasizing the support of international humanitarian law, especially the 1949 Geneva Conventions for hospitals and medical centers, the spokesman said that not only the Israeli regime but states supporting it are responsible for this crime as well.

"Repeated, organized and extensive crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza are clear examples of genocide and war crimes”, Kanaani said, adding that it is the responsibility of the international community and international organization to deal with the perpetrators and leaders of these crimes.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman also urged the UN secretary general and the rotating president of the Security Council to condemn the horrific incident in Khan Yunis.

On Sunday, the Palestine Relief and Rescue Group in Gaza announced that it discovered a mass grave in Nasser Hospital complex, exposing the massacre of Palestinian carried out by the Zionist forces during their ground invasion.

The recovery of over 200 bodies from a mass grave has also drawn condemnation from Hamas. The resistance movement said the discovery proved the extent of the Israeli crimes and atrocities being committed against Palestinians.

Hamas said the horrific crimes would have been impossible without Washington’s backing for Israel.
