Senior experts term Raisi's visit to Pakistan as unity message for region, Islamic world

Islamabad, IRNA – Senior Pakistani experts have regarded Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Pakistan as a message of unity for the region and the Islamic world.

Speakers at a roundtable discussion at the Islamabad Policy Institute (IPI) titled 'Israel’s Gaza Genocide: Specter of a Widening War',  exchanged views on the recent developments of the Middle East.

Emphasizing the importance of the upcoming visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, senior Pakistani experts called for strengthening the efforts of the two countries to ensure mutual interests and close convergence to address regional challenges.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said in the meeting that the Pakistanis are looking forward to the visit of Iranian president, and they will not forget the enthusiastic reception of high-ranking Iranian officials during their visit to Pakistan.

Pakistan's  former federal minister for human rights Shireen Mazari, in her remarks regarded Raisi's visit to Pakistan as the opening of a new window to strengthen bilateral relations and an opportunity for the two neighboring countries to speak with one voice for Palestine and address the issues of the Islamic world.

Farhatullah Babar, Pakistani leftist politician and former Spokesperson to the President of Pakistan, welcoming the of Iranian President's visit to Pakistan, said: The plan of the Zionist regime and the United States to isolate Iran after the Al-Aqsa storm operation failed, and now the Operation True Promise against Israel's recent aggression has completely destroyed the deterrence of this regime.

Senator Babar added that Iran’s reply had broken the myth of the invincibility of Israel.

Senator Afrasiab Khattak, a Pakistani socialist politician and political analyst said in his remarks in the meeting that the Islamic Republic of Iran showed the world its strength to counter Israel's adventures and once again caused the West to worry about Tehran's military and defense capabilities.

He said Iran has won this round of the conflict by delaying the recognition of Israel by Arab states and highlighting the Palestine crisis.
