Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony held in Tehran on the eve of National Army Day (Farvardin 29) to renew allegiance to the late Imam Khomeini’s aspirations on Tuesday.
Farvardin 29 is the birthday of “our Islamic and Revolution Army,” the commander noted.
He added that the Iranian Army has scheduled various plans to be held in the day to unveil parts of its power, self-sufficiency and capability.
The commander stressed that the Islamic Republic Army does not need foreigners even a bit.
Farvardin 29, which was named by the founder of the Islamic Republic as National Army Day, is celebrated across Iran. The Day falls on April 17 this year.
