Far-right Israeli politician and minister, Bezalel Yoel Smotrich was quoted by media on Tuesday night that the Zionist army returned the southern Gaza city to “Stone Age” during its ground operation.
In the statement, he also claimed that the way to get Israeli captives freed from Gaza is through strong military pressure, including the invasion of Rafah and hindering aid deliveries to the besieged Palestinian territory.
"We are retreating from the red lines and making proposals that contradict the fact that we have returned Khan Yunis to the Stone Age", he said.
Media reports based on satellite image show that 55 percent of Khan Yunis' buildings were destroyed or damaged. Local sources in Gaza announced that since the withdrawal of the Zionist forces from the southern city, the bodies of 84 martyrs have been recovered from the rubble of bombed-out buildings.
