Iran holds miniature, Islamic calligraphy exhibition in Russia’s Kazan

Moscow, IRNA – Avicenna Scientific and Cultural Foundation and Iran’s Consulate General held an exhibition with the cooperation of a museum of Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan, to showcase miniature art and Islamic calligraphy.

The exhibition put on display 40 miniature art, 15 calligraphy, and 15 mixed art works from masters Reza Badrossama, Nasser Tavoosi, and Lira Sulaiman – a Russian artist – under the theme “art as a bridge.”

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Iran’s Consul General in Kazan Davood Mirzakhani described art as a bridge to enhance cultural relations.

Also, the deputy head of the educational department at Iran’s Avicenna Scientific and Cultural Foundation Majid Abolhassani said at the ceremony that miniature art and calligraphy have deep concepts understood from the holy Quran, Iran’s literature and the Islamic philosophy and mysticism.

The miniature art and Islamic calligraphy exhibition was held in Kazan from April 2-7. A number of university students and professors, enthusiasts of Islamic art and consuls general from China, Hungary, Turkiya, and Turkmenistan were present in the opening ceremony.
