The Chinese official made the comment on Wednesday during a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Ali Bagheri Kani, reiterating Beijing’s stance on condemning the attack that hit the Iranian embassy’s consular section in Damascus on Monday.
Deng Li also reaffirmed China’s support for Iran in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Iranian official, on his part, expressed gratitude toward China for its stance, stressing that all countries should firmly deal with the Israeli regime over its “terrorist act” and hold it accountable for violating international conventions and laws.
Bagheri Kani also referred to the Israeli regime’s war on Gaza, blaming the continuation of the genocide in the Palestinian territory on the US and some Western states due to their support of the Israeli regime, adding that the support has escalated tensions in the region as well.
