Grigory Karasin, chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs of Russia, made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kasem Jalili on Tuesday, the TASS news agency reported.
"Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria is a terrorist act that should be condemned worldwide," he noted.
Karasin stressed that Russia and Iran have previously proposed a condemnation of the Israeli regime's crimes to the United Nations.
The Israeli aggression on Monday destroyed Iran's consulate in Damascus and killed seven military advisors of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
