The arrest took place within the framework of Turkiye’s operation against Daesh members in 21 provinces of the country, the Turkish radio and TV corporation TRT reported on Sunday.
Interior Minister of Turkiye Ali Yerlikaya has announced the news through a post on social media.
The minister said the police have taken a large number of documents and digital tools from them.
Yerlikaya has reiterated Ankara’s strong determination to combat terrorism.
Turkiye has ramped up its anti-Daesh operations in recent months. About seven years ago, Daesh claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack in Istanbul that killed 39 people.
After the 2024 terrorist attack in the Russian capital Moscow, Ankara is concerned about the repetition of the Istanbul event.
