In a statement, quoted by Shahab news agency, Hamas stressed the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza that leads to the withdrawal of all Israeli forces from the territory and the return of displaced Gazans to their homes.
The resistance movement also expressed readiness for a deal securing the release of Palestinians languishing in Israeli jails in exchange for Israeli captives held in Gaza.
It also called for the delivery of all humanitarian supplies needed in the besieged Strip.
Hamas further urged the UN Security Council to pressure the Israeli regime to observe the ceasefire in Gaza and stop the genocide of Palestinians.
We affirm the right of our people to have an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital and their right to return and determine own destiny in accordance with international laws.
At the end of the statement, Hamas appreciated the efforts of Algeria and all other members of the Security Council that supported Palestinians and worked to stop Israel’s aggression and genocidal war.
