According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the army’s air defense confronted the Israeli missiles near Damascus, destroying most of them early on Sunday.
The news agency did not say how many missiles were involved. There was no mention of the exact location of the Israeli attack either.
The Israeli regime has been conducting airstrikes on various positions in Syria in the past several days. Syria labels the attacks as blatant acts of aggression against its soil, with the government time and again submitting letters to the United Nations and the UN Security Council, calling for the halt to the airstrikes.
