Pandor said on Tuesday that Israel has defied the International Court of Justice's January verdict that the regime must stop the genocide in Gaza.
In a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, South Africa's minister said that Israel "completely ignored" the ruling as “we are witnessing widespread hunger and famine in Gaza."
Pandor stressed that Israel's actions may give other nations the impression that "there is a license (for atrocities) and they can do whatever they want."
South African officials have repeatedly accused the Zionist regime of not complying with the ICJ verdict on the case Pretoria filed on January 8, against Israel over the mass killing of the Palestinian people with the aim of ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
According to an interim ruling issued by the ICJ after three days of hearing last month, the Israeli regime was ordered to take necessary measures to prevent crimes of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The court acknowledged that the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip led to the death of a large number of people and the forced migration of a number of others. But it stopped short of ordering a ceasefire that was a key demand in South Africa’s lawsuit,
Earlier this month, South Africa has asked the ICJ once again to take more emergency measures against the Israeli regime, which it said was breaching the court ruling issued before.
Vincent Magwenya, the official spokesman of the South African president, emphasized the need for urgent actions to ensure that further genocide is prevented in the Gaza Strip.
In its application, South Africa warned that Palestinians in Gaza are facing starvation and asked the court to review and prevent Israel's decision to expand its military operations. It also requested the court to order that all parties cease hostilities and release all hostages and detainees.
