The Sistan and Baluchestan border information center announced on Monday that a border guard named Mohammad-Javad Bayanati was targeted by unidentified armed men from the other side of the border on Sunday night.
The border guard, who came from Jiroft city in Kerman province and was conducting his military service in Sistan and Baluchestan province, succumbed to his injuries following the terrorist attack.
The border areas of the Sistan and Baluchestan province have witnessed several terrorist attacks, especially in recent years. Iranian authorities have time and again urged Pakistani officials to enhance security measures to guarantee the halt of such attacks on Iranians there.
