Meta removed Ayatollah Khamenei's pages over Palestine support: Bolivian envoy

Tehran, IRNA - Bolivia's ambassador to Iran says the recent closure of Instagram and Facebook pages of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is linked to their pro-Palestinian content.

In an interview with Khamenei.ir published on Sunday, Romina Guadalupe Pérez Ramos attributed Meta's decision to remove the Persian and English accounts of Ayatollah Khamenei to their support for the oppressed Palestinian people and the publication of content critical of imperialism.

The ambassador pointed out that the closure is an attempt to silence voices that present a more realistic and morally supportive narrative for the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Pérez criticized the use of false accusations, such as anti-Semitism, as a means to censor individuals and stifle dissenting opinions.

She also identified opposition to imperialism and Zionism as key factors leading to distortion and censorship by Western media outlets.

The Bolivian diplomat further called for a proactive approach and forging strong alliances to counter Western attacks on freedom of expression.
