Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam on Sunday, Ayaz Sadiq stressed using the parliament's capacity to help develop bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially in the economic field.
He highlighted the geographical location of Iran and Pakistan in order to increase regional and international trade.
Strengthening bilateral trade at common borders and focusing on technical issues to expand economic cooperation is inevitable, he said, adding that Pakistan welcomes reinforcing economic cooperation with Iran, the exchange of business delegations, especially the interaction between the private and public sectors.
Meanwhile, Amir Moghadam expressed Iran's readiness to activate parliamentary friendship groups as well as the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries in regional and international bodies.
He stressed using the capacity of parliaments to develop economic relations, increasing the volume of bilateral trade, increasing border trade, opening a banking channel to increase bilateral trade, activating the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, and activating the private sectors.
