** TEHRAN TIMES

- Resistance shatters Netanyahu’s “total victory” dream

Israel has been making desperate attempts to crush the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip since the regime launched war on the territory in early October.  After more than 160 days of the war, Israel has failed to achieve its goal. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the war until “total victory” over Hamas following the resistance movement’s military operation in southern Israel on October 7.  During the Hamas military operation, more than 1,100 people were killed and roughly 250 were taken captive. Over 100 of them were released in a November deal.  The Hamas raid has been described as a great failure and a security fiasco for Israel.

- Iran, Pakistan should have robust cooperation in different fields

Encouraging further cooperation across various domains such as culture, tourism, and trade, the Pakistani ambassador to Iran has emphasized the importance of strengthening the longstanding bond between Iran and Pakistan.  In an exclusive interview with the Tehran Times on Wednesday, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu underscored the need for both nations to actively nurture and enhance their deep-seated connections which are rooted in history.

- Israel is mocking humanity

Israel is treating the Palestinians in a way that is nothing less than a mockery of human beings. In addition to the cruel murder of civilians, Israel is humiliating Palestinians. Israel’s degrading behaviors toward Palestinians are primarily intended to demoralize and subjugate the entire Palestinian nation.     Palestinian medical staff in Gaza have told the BBC they were blindfolded, detained, forced to strip and repeatedly beaten by Israeli troops after a raid at their hospital last month.

- Yemen targets US, Israeli ships in Indian Ocean

Yemen’s armed forces said on Friday they had started launching operations in the Indian Ocean, targeting several Israeli and American ships in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The forces’ spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced the developments in a statement, which he read out to the people attending the weekly million-march in support of Gazans in Sanaa.

- Taekwondo athlete Mobina Nematzadeh secures 2024 Paris Berth

Iranian Iran Female taekwondo athlete Mobina Nematzadeh has earned a quota for the 2024 Olympic Games. Nematzadeh, 18, first beat Timor-Leste Ana Da Costa in two rounds in the quarterfinals and then defeated Japan’s Ruka Okamoto and advanced to the final match.

- Russians Vote in Presidential Election Amid Escalating Border Attacks

Russians cast their ballots across the country’s 11 time zones on Friday amid an ongoing conflict and a barrage of deadly attacks on border regions. From Chukotka on the Pacific 6,300 km (3,900 miles) away from Moscow to the Kaliningrad exclave on the Baltic Sea bordering Poland, some of Russia’s more than 190 ethnic groups turned out to vote in national costume. Putin is running against Communist Nikolai Kharitonov, Leonid Slutsky, leader of the nationalist Liberal Democratic Party, and Vladislav Davankov of the New People party.
