Iran VP demands renewing Iran's membership in Commission on Status of Women

New York, IRNA - Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Ensiyeh Khazali, in a meeting with the head of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York, called for addressing the unfair decision to cancel Iran's membership of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

On the fourth day of the 68th meeting of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, Ensiyeh Khazali met and talked with Antonio Manuel Ruila Lagdameo, the head of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, in New York on Thursday local time.

Khazali appreciated the cooperation of this commission with Iranin holding bilateral meetings, specialized round table and interactive dialogue, which is the plan ahead of Iran in this year's Commission on the Status of Women.

She called for immediate and operational action to save the women and children of Gaza at this time.

The head of the UN Women's Commission appreciated the participation of the high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this meeting and the clear statement of their positions.

"One of our concerns is the women and children who suffer from conflicts and we have always announced that a ceasefire should be established so that it is possible," he added.
