Khazali made these remarks during a meeting with Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Qatar's Minister of Social Development and Family, in New York on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67).
Since the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Qatar has played a crucial role as a mediator between Hamas and the Zionist regime. The Israeli regime initiated its genocidal war against Gaza after Hamas launched a surprise multi-pronged attack against the occupied territories in response to more than seven decades of occupation and suppression.
Khaz’ali also referred to the family commitment movement, which was introduced by Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi during the 78th UN General Assembly in 2023. She extended an invitation to Qatar to join this movement, aiming to revive and promote natural familial values.
Furthermore, Khaz’ali highlighted the gender crisis and the misunderstanding of gender identity as significant challenges facing humanity. She also expressed concern about the new threat that jeopardizes the foundation of families.
In response, Qatari Minister Mariam bint Ali expressed hope for sustainable and extensive cooperation between Tehran and Doha concerning women and families and emphasized that many non-Muslim countries share the same views with Muslim states on safeguarding families.
