--  Iran calls US airdrop of aid into Gaza ‘ridiculous, symbolic’ move

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani slammed the US airdrop of humanitarian aid into Gaza as “a merely symbolic” move. Kanaani said Washington vetoed three resolutions calling for an immediate end to the war in the besieged strip and, at the same time, is sending its weapons to Israel.
He emphasized that the US resorts to “ridiculous and bitter’” measures in an effort to rectify and justify its warmongering policy.

--  Iran, Russia, China to hold naval drills in Gulf of Oman

Naval forces from Iran, Russia and China will begin military drills in the Gulf of Oman on Tuesday.   Russia’s Defense Ministry said a group of its warships had arrived in Iran to take part in drills with Iran and China in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.
The joint exercises, called “Maritime Security Belt – 2024,” will involve warships and aviation, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement quoted by state media on Monday.

--  Iranian musician Ghamsari to perform with Moscow Symphony Orchestra

Ali Ghamsari, nominated for the international Bravo Award, will perform alongside the Moscow Symphony Orchestra during Nowruz (Persian News Year).
The Bravo Award, a global recognition in arts and culture, aims to strengthen Russia’s position as the cultural center of Eurasia. Ambassadors from various countries participate, and honorary guests attend the awards ceremony.

--  ECO States, Iran to Ink MoU on Constructing Logistics Village

Iran and other Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the construction of a logistics village.
The chief executive of the Maku Free Zone Hussein Garousi revealed the construction operation of the first Iranian Knowledge-Based Economy Town, adding that the ECO Road will be inaugurated as a part of the International East-West Transport Corridor.

--  Official: Cooperation With BRICS States Can Help Develop Energy Sector

The director of the Iran Electricity Grid Management Company for monitoring the electricity market Iman Rahmati has said that the country’s cooperation with the BRICS group of emerging economies can lead to the development of the energy sector.
Speaking at the first meeting of the Energy Committee of the BRICS countries in Russia, Rahmati pointed out that BRICS was founded in 2005 by four countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, and then South Africa joined the club in 2010.

--  ASEAN Countries Pledge to Strengthen Regional Trade

Participants in the 30th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat in northern Laos’ Luang Prabang province have pledged to strengthen cooperation and connectivity to bolster trade and the overall economy of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Representatives from the member states of the ASEAN discussed priority economic deliverables for this year and exchanged views on the regional and global economic outlook, Lao News Agency on Monday quoted Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaythong Kommasith as saying at a press conference after the meeting on March 9.

--  Air Defense commander assesses combat readiness as he visits southern Iran

 The commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Siraf Air Defense Group and its various sections in southern Iran on Monday. 

Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi Fard meticulously evaluated the combat and operational capabilities of the site.

Highlighting the significance of values like responsibility and commitment rooted in the patriotism of air defense personnel, General Sabahi Fard emphasized the pivotal role of the air defense forces. 

-- Tehran prepares to host diverse art, cultural festivals in coming year

 Tehran province to host multiple art and cultural festivals during the upcoming Persian year commencing on March 21, the Director of the General Directorate of Culture and Guidance of the province has said.  During a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Ali Forouzanfar announced the organization of a series of festivals in the fields of performing arts, music, visual arts, and literary arts within Tehran Province for the following year.

Forouzanfar specified that the Tehran Art Festival in the upcoming year will be a large-scale event encompassing all these artistic genres, emphasizing its focus on nurturing talent, talent scouting, and education.

--  ‘Iran’s GDP can triple in medium term’

Deputy Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Mohammadreza Bahraman said Iran has the potential to triple its GDP in the medium term, the ICCIMA portal reported.

Addressing a session of the ICCIMA Board of Representatives on Sunday, Bahraman said that the Iranian economy has the potential to increase its production capacity to almost $1000 billion in the medium term while it is currently making use of a maximum of one-third of this capacity.
