Seyyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said on Sunday that it is an honor for the Yemeni nation to show sympathy for “the pains of the Islamic Ummah” and the oppression that has been inflicted on the people in Palestine.
“We will continue our operations and many of our fundamental and necessary activities must continue,” said Houthi in an address to clerics and officials of Yemen’s legal government in a ceremony held on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan.
He also called on the Yemeni nation to show support for people in Palestine by continuing to hold demonstrations on the streets.
Yemen has been carrying out attacks on Israeli-linked ships sailing in waters off the country since mid-November in a show of support for Palestinians fighting the Israeli aggression in Gaza.
The Yemenis have also launched numerous attacks on US and British ships in the region in response to airstrikes by the two countries on targets across Yemen, which began in mid-January.
