Red Crescent assists 59,000 flood victims in southeastern Iran

Tehran, IRNA -- The Iranian Red Crescent Society has intensified its relief efforts in the flood-stricken regions in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan.

According to information from the Red Crescent, relief efforts have reached 59,000 people in 30 villages ravaged by the floods.

The crisis in Sistan and Baluchistan escalated early in March as torrential rains inundated the southern regions of the province. Since then, the Red Crescent's rescue teams have been tirelessly working to assist those impacted by the flooding.

Statistics from the Red Crescent reveal the extent of the devastation, with 13,951 households and 59,287 individuals affected by the floods.

Among them, 1,325 families, totaling 5,299 people, have been provided with emergency shelter, while 102 individuals have been rescued from perilous situations.
