Zionist police crack down on anti-Netanyahu protesters

Tehran, IRNA- One more demonstration against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in occupied Palestine turned violent as police used force to disperse the crowd on Saturday night.

They also arrested at least 10 protesters who were demanding immediate action for the release of Israeli captives in Gaza, the dissolution of the far-right cabinet under Netanyahu and the holding of early elections, Palestinian Sama news agency reported.

According to the report, a large number of people gathered in Rehovot town near Tel Aviv. The protesters chanted slogans and demanded the overthrow of Netanyahu's cabinet while criticizing its performance.

Netanyahu has been facing ire since his election over a host of scandal and graft charges, but the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation by the Palestinian resistance on October 7 deepened the divide between the Israeli public and the governing regime.

Recently, Israeli daily Haaretz in a report expressed concern about the continuation of the current regime under Netanyahu as well as Tel Aviv's war against the people of Gaza.

"Israelis are tired of Netanyahu, but he still clings to power," Haaretz wrote.

Over the past several months, Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem have witnessed a number of demonstrations by settlers and the families of Zionist captives held by Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza. The latest protests come as the regime has failed to make a breakthrough in talks with mediators on the Gaza ceasefire and exchange of prisoners.
