The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held on Wednesday in the presence of Iran's Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ali Bahraini and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva Tatiana Valovaya.
During his opening speech, Bahraini stated that Iran has had a Foreign Ministry for over two hundred years, with more than a hundred years of experience engaging with multilateralism before and after the formation of the League of Nations.
He said that the exhibition on display showcases the early negotiations for establishing the Community of Nations, the United Nations era, and beyond.
This exhibition, with a historical approach, tried to display the history of more than a hundred years of Iran's presence and activities in international organizations in three sections: images, documents and videos.
The exhibition of "Iran and 100 Years of Multilateralism” displays a collection of 30 photographs and historical documents that show the history of Iran’s presence and activities in the multilateral organizations is underway in Geneva, Switzerland from March 4 to 11, 2024.
