From February 28, the towns and villages have been hit by inundated waters after heavy rains across the province, Mohammad Hassan Nami told IRNA on Saturday.
The governor general and officials in the province have held emergency meetings from the outset of the crisis and made efforts to alleviate the risk and open up the routes blocked by the flood, Nami said.
He added that rescue teams and an air ambulance have been dispatched to the stricken areas.
Also, some boats and vehicles have been sent to transport ballot boxes, Nami noted.
On March 1, elections for the 12th term of the Majlis (the Iranian Parliament) and the 6th term of the Assembly of Experts were held across Iran.
In a related development, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Hossein Salami held a telephone conversation on Saturday with the provincial officials, stressing the importance of offering due services to the stricken areas.
