With the approval of the Iranian Interior Minister, the voting time will be extended for another two hours, i.e. until midnight across the country, the Election Office, the body charged for the implementation of election procedures in Iran, announced in a statement.
Some 61 million Iranians are eligible to vote, including 3.5 million first-time voters.
The elections are held in around 60,000 polling stations across Iran.
