According to the Palestinian Sama news agency, Gallant acknowledged high number of casualties among the regime’s forces since the onset of the genocidal war on Gaza.
The costs we have paid in terms of the number of dead and wounded are very high, he said.
Gallant stressed that “Israel has not seen such a war in 75 years and called for amendments to the conscription law” in response to a level of warfare meaning a significant shift in military dynamics.
The regime’s military has so far confirmed 243 deaths among its soldiers since the launch of a ground invasion of Gaza in late October.
The announced number of casualties of the regime has reached more than 580 since the onset of the war following Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, 2023.
Palestinian groups and some Israeli media outlets suspect the Israeli military figure, saying the regime is intentionally hiding the real number of casualties among its forces in the Gaza war to avoid the Israeli public anger.
